The creation of this work in the public spaces of the town of Roudnice nad Labem was preceded by public research in which 67 local residents participated. This online questionnaire aimed to map the state of public safety in Roudnice nad Labem, focusing in particular on issues that are often overlooked or downplayed. Participants marked locations they preferred to avoid, mostly during late hours. This information then informed the creation of three works at the most frequently marked locations. The works use participants’ own statements from the questionnaire, edited into short slogans and paired with a matching symbol. The works take the form of graffiti – a medium often condemned and overlooked by society, much like these statements themselves. The works were photographed and subsequently published in Flash Art CZ magazine.
