Post-Past: Identity Beyond Inheritance and Memory

The artwork explores the concept of identity and how it is shaped by personal experience, biological inheritance, and social influences. It draws on personal archival materials, including childhood VHS recordings, which are confronted with a scientific and depersonalized perspective on the body and genetic information. The past enters into dialogue with the present, where the idea of a “new human” emerges – a digital, emotionally neutral entity seeking to detach itself from memory, heredity, and learned patterns of identity.

The installation examines the tension between the biological and the digital body while critically reflecting on the contemporary ideal of the “perfect body,” shaped by technology, science, and cultural norms. It also raises the question of whether it is possible to free oneself from the past, and to what extent identity remains fluid in an era when the human body is increasingly understood as a system that can be modified and reconfigured.
